What makes an artist?
Is it someone who resists?
At one time or another
Our hearts become full of this
Idea of expression
And getting it all out
Can sometimes appear futile
I rarely have no doubts
Sometimes it’s just magic
What makes you want to give?
And sometimes it’s just tragic
I know you want to live
I often enjoy sharing
A modified piece of me
All that’s happened to me
Has prompted me to “just be”
What is an artist?
Is it someone who thinks?
Someone who feels?
Or someone who drinks?
Well, for me, art is like water
I need it to survive
It comes in many forms
And I am still alive

Art is so soothing
There’s just no mistaking
About who it’s intended for
The audience is me
